Video - What happens to the cuckoo's egg in a nest?

Most birds will lay their eggs in a nest and after 14 - 18 days the eggs will hatch. Then for the next 2 - 3 weeks the adult male and female will take turns bringing food (small grubs and other insects) back to the nest for the chicks to eat.

Chaffinch jigsaw

The chaffinch is one of our most common species of bird here in the United Kingdom. The male chaffinch has a blue-grey cap, pink cheeks and breast and a reddish-brown mantle. Females and juveniles are less brightly coloured. They build their nests in a tree fork or a bush using local moss and lichen and line it with animal hairs and feathers. In the nest the female will lays 4-5 eggs.
