The Blue Tit

Blue tits are found all year round in the United Kingdom and most of Europe, Africa and Asia. Blue Tits have yellow under-parts with blue wings, a blue tail and a blue cap. Adults have white cheeks, but those of the juveniles are yellow. The juvenile Blue Tit is duller than the adult and has a greener crown, wings and tail, and yellow cheek.

What do Blue Tits eat?

Diet: Insects and their larvae, spiders, seeds, fruit, grain, nuts and buds.

Although the blue tit is mainly a woodland bird it is one of our best known garden birds. It will visit feeders to feed on nuts and seeds and eat scraps that are placed on a bird tray or thrown on the ground.
