Want to learn more about birds and impress your friends? Then read every Monday our Chatterbox reports. To help you easily read each Chatterbox report click on the sound button at the top of the page to listen to Matthew our keen Bird Spotter reading the report aloud.
Topics we are featuring over the coming weeks include: where birds live, what they eat, reproduction, how they fly and why do birds migrate and leave the British Isles every autumn.
Tuesday: Bird of the Week
All about birds is a super new addition for 2017. Each week we will be featuring one of the common birds that visit school grounds and gardens in the south of England. Why not download the colourful PDF Newsletters and Fact Sheets about each bird and display these in your class bird corner?
Wednesday: Bird Spotting 2017
An opportunity for your pupils to become excellent bird spotters! Every week look out for our featured bird of the week in your school grounds, garden or local hedgerows. Record each sighting you make and upload your information to our Bird Spotting 2017 Google Map. Help us keep a record this spring/summer of the birds we see around us? Will our results match those from the 2017 RSPB Garden Watch?
Thursday: Pupil Zone (PZone)
Visit the PZone every week for things to do and make! Each week will feature activities linked to the Chatterbox Topic and Bird of the Week! Have you found any great website with things to do about birds? Send us the details and we will feature it on PZone!
Friday: School Reports
Each week we will be featuring one of our Bird Box schools. To tell us about what you are doing to give nature a home send us a short written report (250 – 500 words) and a selection of photographs. We promise to feature all school reports we are sent.
